The challenge

The PLSA needed to expand and reconfigure the organisation in response to unprecedented change in pensions and the way people will prepare for retirement in the future.

The solution

NFP had already worked with the PLSA (formerly the National Association of Pension Funds) on executive search assignments so the Chief Executive asked us to provide dedicated HR support as she implemented the organisation’s new structure, expanding it by 25 per cent, particularly in external affairs and commercial services. Over the following 12 months we used rigorous search and selection techniques to recruit people to the new organisational structure and provided support and team development to help embed the new operating model.

The outcome

The new structure was established smoothly and effectively within the optimum timeframe. By recruiting according to a planned process we enabled the PLSA to pursue its new business strategy and to maintain progress even as it recruited.
