St. Catherines Hospice
£75,000 - £80,000
Lostock Hall, Preston, Lancs.
Here for when it matters most.
St Catherines Hospice is a registered charity inspired, built and driven forward by local people for local people, which is held in high regard locally, regionally and nationally for the quality of the care it provides.
Our mission and commitment to the communities we serve is to continually strive to help more people facing life-shortening illnesses and to enable them to have quality of life to the end of life. To achieve this we need to balance the goals of quality, quantity and sustainability in equal measure so that we are able to meet the needs of a growing local population.
Each year St. Catherines helps around 2,000 patients and touch hundreds more through the experience of their loved ones. We serve a population of around 380,000 people across Chorley, Longridge, Preston and South Ribble.
Our specialised hospice care and complementary therapies are free of charge and it costs £11,500 each day to deliver our services and this excludes our ambitious plans for the re-build of the in-patient facilities by 2025. The annual running costs are currently in excess of £7m and the greater part, £4m, is the voluntary income raised through the fantastic community and business support we nurture. Alongside our fundraising, there are 18 shops and a successful trading company.
To be successful in the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the senior management experience that this complex role demands as well as bring the dedicated, inspiring and empowering leadership qualities that are essential.
With a strong ethos of team working based on values of care, compassion and commitment, the leadership of the Chief Executive is pivotal to the motivation and coordination of a large and hugely diverse team of both paid and voluntary staff.
Our success since the hospice was founded in 1985 is rooted in our ability to inspire others and this will only ever continue to be the case.
