Women in Prison is a national charity that delivers support for women affected by the criminal justice system in prisons, within the community and through our Women's Centres. We campaign to end the harm caused to women, their families and our communities by imprisonment. We are an organisation centred on womens experiences and one that is ambitious for radical change.
Our vision is for a new system of justice that addresses the root causes of offending (including poverty, mental ill-health, harmful substance use, homelessness and experiences of trauma and abuse) in communities through a network of Womens Centres, with specialist services available to every woman who requires support.
Our Mission is to persuade decision-makers to radically reduce the womens prison population, by demonstrating how a focus on human rights, social justice, health and investment in specialist community support services, including Womens Centres, enables women to move forward with their lives.
We are an organisation ready to begin a new era of coproduced programme delivery, deeper partnerships, a genuine focus on equity in the services we deliver and bringing the voices of women to the front and centre of our influencing work.
This brand new role is a crucial organisational leadership position. It has been created to lead the development of our programme/service delivery model, and to help us design and implement alternatives to the justice system. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will work closely with our Director of External Affairs and Campaigns to ensure that the voices of women who access our services, and our frontline staff, are at the forefront of the changes that must be made to prevent the harm of prisons.
This is a pivotal moment for Women in Prison as we enter our 40th year. We know that we dont want to still exist in another 40 years, and you will be part of making a real impact and real change happening.
Closing date: Midnight Sunday 15th January 2023
